Finely chop the white onion and mince the garlic cloves.
Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan on the stove to a medium heat.
Once heated, add chopped onion and minced garlic. Pan fry until golden brown (about 2-3 mins).
Using a spatula, move the onion and garlic mixture to the side of the pan and add ground beef on the empty side.
Season the beef directly on the pan using the listed spices. Stir and crumble it into small pieces until it is browned. (This will take about 10 minutes).
When the beef is fully cooked, taste it and adjust the seasonings as needed.
Chop the small bunch of cilantro and mix it into the onion, garlic, and beef mixture when the beef is finished cooking.
