Salmon is the best fish out there and no one can tell me otherwise!!! It’s flavorful, flaky, and crisps up perfectly in the air fryer. If you’re tired of pan frying or baking your salmon, this is the recipe for you!
The marinade is a combo of sweet, sour, and umami flavors that come from yuzu sauce and miso paste.
A company called Cabi Foods recently sent me over some of their sauces to try, and they worked perfectly for the marinade, but you can also find the non-Cabi Foods versions of these ingredients at a Japanese grocery store or even at Trader Joe’s in this day and age.
I’m not being paid to say this, but this brand’s Sweet Yuzu Sauce is genuinely amazing. It’s a great marinade but also makes an amazing, tangy sauce for many bowls in general.
If you have typical miso paste at home, you’ll need to dilute it slightly for this recipe. If you end up using the one from Cabi Foods, it won’t require that since it’s much thinner than the paste I’ve found in grocery stores.
I normally buy my salmon at Trader Joe’s or Costco. If you’re making this for 1-2 people, stick to the salmon from Trader Joe’s. If you’re planning on feeding a village, Costco is your friend.
Serve this salmon over rice or in a salad! I served mine over white rice, added parsley for garnish, and drizzled with sweet chili sauce and lemon for that extra flavaaaaa! Oh, and don’t forget the sriracha.
Other topping options: avocado, fresh cucumber, pickled red onion, kimchi, seaweed salad.
To your right, you’ll find the final version of my bowl. Isn’t she pretty?
If you’re into meal prepping, multiply this recipe by two and you’ve got yourself 4-5 meals for the week.
Personally, I find that salmon gets a bit tiring after having it more than once or twice in one week. It gives me the same feeling that I get when I eat scrambled eggs. You know when you take one bite tooo many of your eggs and it makes you kind of nauseous? That’s how I feel when I eat salmon too many times in a row. I really hope this is relatable for someone. All this to say: definitely make this recipe, but meal prep it at your own risk.
Anyways, enough about my strange food aversions, and onto the good stuff!!! Check out the recipe, and leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
